Our Story

At Bokara, our story began with a love for fine textiles and a desire to create exquisite
handwoven rugs that bring warmth and elegance to every home.

Founded in 1975 by Jan Soleimani, Bokara Rug Company has spent over four decades offering the finest quality area rugs. Originally dealing in antique and rare rugs, Jan
recognized the growing demand for a wider range of designs. “My roots in those
eras drive the quality of my inventory today,” he says.

Bokara now boasts one of the country’s largest collections of fine rugs, including
antique, modern, transitional, European, and one-of-a-kind pieces from around
the world. The vast inventory offers sizes from room-sized to oversized rugs,
with custom sizes and colorways available.

Our vision is clearly presented in Bokara’s vast state-of-the-art warehouse where dealers, designers, and customers will find one of the country’s largest collections of fine rugs—from antique, semi-antique, antique rugs in the making, modern, decorative, transitional, traditional, European, contemporary, and one-of-kind pieces from around the world.

In-stock sizes range from room-sizes, runners, scatter sizes plus the largest collection of oversize and unusual size rugs in the country. Custom sizes and colorways are also available.
