Afshar rugs are tribal designs and come from the Afshar tribe based mainly in the Azerbaijan region of Persia. They are normally in the smaller size 3-4 feet x 5-7 feet and is very unusual to find room size rugs. This rug is a typical example with the three central tribal elements on a navy ground with multiple borders surrounding.
