“Verdure” is recreated after an 18th century tapestry woven at Aubusson. It has a very wide border ornate with flowers and fruit, which is almost as full of interest as the central scene. In the central scene we see a stag and a doe under a tree on the outskirts of a 18th century town. Light wools create particularly lovely high lights in the sunlit foliage and background horizon.
