“Verdure with Bird and Pagoda” is an elegant verdure tapestry in the style of those woven in the 18th century in Brussels, one of the chief tapestry weaving towns at the time. In this period landscapes with trees, birds and rivers were popular, and often included graceful architectural frames. Here an oriental influence can be seen with the pagoda and exotic bird.
