“The Wine Harvest” is one of the four scenes of gentle life, which are still known to us today. This scene depicts members of the nobility tasting the first wine of the season. In the central foreground, there is a large allegorical figure reaching out to the grapes. This element was borrowed from a painting by Anthony van Dyck. The border contains beautiful still-life elements, with creatures such as monkeys, parrots and dogs among flowers and fruit.
