Antique Tehran Rug circa 1880. Rug production in Tehran the capital of Persia was only for a short period from around 1860 to the 1950's and are considered to be of a high quality. This lovely example with a flowering tree in the center surrounded in great detail by other floral designs and surrounded by a border repeating the theme is an example of the extreme skill and craftsmanship of the weavers.
