An antique Persian Kazvin rug featuring the Lion and Sun motif that was the best known symbol of Iran up until the revolution in 1979. The flag of Iran appears either side of the sun and this representation appeared on the pre revolutionary flag. The wonderful wide border gives added strength to the central design and this is a truly delightful small but very detailed piece.
