A Shirvan hand woven Caucasian rug, circa 1890. These types of antique Caucasian rugs were woven in the eastern part of the region, mostly along the west coast of the Caspian Sea and show in the design, the ethnic style associated with Caucasian pieces. The central blue field, covered with floral motifs, all surrounded by the most wonderful borders, each one with its own distinctive style and coloration, together with varying styles, that create this truly distinctive and individual piece.
