Antique Persian Kirman Lavar Rug circa 1880. Some of the finest rugs in the world come from the famous weaving area known as Lavar or Ravar. Situated around 60 miles north of Kirman they have been weaving rugs of exceptional quality for over 200 years. This particular example displays all the characteristics that make these rugs so distinctive, the curvilinear patterns combined with swirling floral designs. The wonderful border with flower and vine designs brings a sense of stability to the overall scene.
