An antique Shirvan hand woven Caucasian rug circa 1880. These types of antique Caucasian rugs were woven in the eastern part of the region, mostly along the west coast of the Caspian Sea and show in the design, the ethnic style associated with Caucasian pieces. The central field with three diamond medallions and filled with a wonderful array of different designs, floral, animal and ethnic all surrounded by multiple borders creating a distinctive and extremely interesting piece.
